Day 8 of the 21 day organization challenge

My coat closet before day 8. I have to say this day was no fun.

and after...

I want to get another shelf tote like on the floor. Also maybe some better storage for the shelf. Note to self for next trip to wally world. My kids backpacks have to stay on the floor (which I don't mind) because they are so heavy with books. Happy for now.

Day 7 of the 21 day organization challenge

Today is the kitchen pantry. When we built our house I had to give up a kitchen pantry for our dorr to the basement. But I knew what needed done in our kitchen. I am not a cook so my cabinets are not out of control. Plus I do have shelving in the basement that houses my extras.

But the cabinets that are my kids stuff is out of control. So this was great that this fell on a Sat. They helped and since this is their space I thought it would help them keep it organized

I am so lucky to have kids who are such good sports about the things I make them do.

So after they got done it looked great and we purged a bunch of stuff that was old and no one likes.

So for the next few weeks the two will over lap so I am going to pick my favorite to put toward the 52 week challenge. This week it is my day 6, because I got to let my daughter help and she was happy when it was done.

Day 6 of the 21 day organization challenge

Today is the dresser and since my husband and I don't use a dressers for clothes (we have a walk in closet - which is a week project at the least). I decided to do my daughters dresser. Here is the before and the top is out of control.

She helped me with this so I am hoping that will encourage her to keep it up.

I let her put the stuff on the dresser in the way she wanted so she felt in control.

Her top drawer is socks and undies. So I got a tote for each. I didn't try and fold them all as I knew that was too much to ask of her long term. My kids put their clean clothes up so I am glad they do that. I told her as long as everything is in the right tote I would be happy! During AFV we fold socks as a family on Sunday nights so then she can just add them to the tote. Her tights are in the middle. We got rid of a bunch that didn't fit anymore. Yaaa!

The second drawer is p.j's and we just purged and refolded everything. Nothing exciting.

The third is 'comfy clothes' and the same was done.

After it was done she said 'I am so glad we did that'!

Day 5 of the 21 day organization challenge

Today was an easy one for me. For whatever reason under my sink is keep pretty neat.

Here is the before.

I just pulled everything out and cleanned. Then added some stackable totes for my towels, spounges, and gloves. I moved the basket from the left to contain the bottles on the right.

quickest day for me! ya I needed that.

Todays area for the organizational challenge is the linen closet. We don't have a true built in linen closet (two walk in closets in this house and no linen closet!!!) but I added one to my childrens playroom closet. So here is the before...

And after getting rid of the lighting McQueen sheets (for my almost 10yr old son - he will be so happy) and my DD dora sleeping bag and princess sheets (over do). Here is the after...

I Realized I need some more towels for them and wash clothes. Good to know!

Today is the tupperware cabinet. Alot went bye bye today.

And if anyone has any suggestions for my oils that only fit in this space and not with the other food items - I would love it. After the challenge is over I am putting moving a shelf in the food cabinet so that these fit. But for now they are still living here.

Today was a big one for me. This is my biggest problem in the house. Everything comes here to be dealt with at another time...my desk! Here is the crazy before- and can I just remind everyone we just had Christmas and I just got the last of the decorations put away today and this is the busiest time of year for my business and ok enough excusses...
